Southren Humboldt Hoedown
A trip to Southern Humboldt. We got one more lovely trip down to the warmth before the fall weather really settles into Humboldt County. The drive down was lovely. It was as far south as we have been in a while. I always get so excited about going places. I feel kinda like a dog that can’t wait for its walk and loves going in the car. We grabbed some yummy drinks and were off.
It was hot in Garberville. We were downing the cold water and I loved feeling the warm sun and air in my sleeveless flowery dress. The Southern Humboldt Hoe Down took place two week ends ago and our good friends Melody Stone and Dustin Taylor hooked us up. I loved being at this festival. The people there seem to be the kind that are living simple lifestyles. They seem to truly enjoy a day of bluegrass music and hanging out with friends. There was a petting zoo complete with sheep, rabbits, turkeys, pony, calf, lama and a handful of really cute 4-H kids who were running the place. Beer, food, cold drinks and vendors selling homemade goods. Huckleberry Flint was our main attraction. It was lovely to see all of them and hear their music again. Good bye summer and hello Autumn.
